Investigators are trying to determine what happened to a man who was discovered laying in front of an apartment building on Nanticoke Avenue in Endicott.

Authorities late Friday afternoon said they have identified the man as Michael Slahucka. They said he was unresponsive when he was found on a walkway in front of 101 South Nanticoke Avenue around 6 a.m. Monday.

Endicott police said Slahucka was taken to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment. Detectives said he had sustained "serious physical injuries" but they did not elaborate nor did they describe his current condition.

Investigators said Slahucka was wearing a royal blue T-shirt and sweatpants when he was discovered.

Detectives believe Slahucka was injured sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Monday. They said anyone who has knowledge of the man's travels on Sunday evening into Monday morning may contact investigators by calling 607.785.3341.
