Endicott Man is Accused of Trying to Steal a Purse

An Endicott man is charged with felony attempted robbery.

Police in the Village say 33-year-old Jason Salvinski is accused of taking a woman’s purse from her car as she was returning her shopping cart at the Price Chopper supermarket on North Street at 2:33pm on September 16th.

The woman confronted the man and the pair struggled with the purse before he let go and ran off.

The woman followed for a short distance and snapped a cell phone photo that she showed the police, leading them to identify Salvinski.

He was found less than an hour and a half later at his North Street home hiding in the shower.

The investigation is continuing.

Savinski was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
