According to the district attorney's office, 30-year-old Antoine Gibson was found guilty Thursday of criminal possession of a weapon. The verdict followed a two-day trial and jury deliberations that lasted about one hour.

During the trial, a prosecutor said Gibson illegally possessed a loaded firearm in Endicott in July 2016.

A warrant for Gibson's arrest was issued after an investigation by village police. The Broome County Sheriff's Office eventually sought tips from the public in locating him.

Gibson was tracked down by a fugitive task force in Brooklyn last June.

Gibson is scheduled to be sentenced on January 10. Prosecutors say he faces 7 to 15 years in prison because of previous convictions.
