A 47-year-old Endicott man faces ten felony charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from a village resident who had hired him to do odd jobs around her house.

Authorities say William Bieber of Roosevelt Avenue is believed to have taken $15,966 by forging checks stolen from the Paden Street woman.

According to Endicott police, Bieber was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. He also was charged with four counts of third-degree grand larceny and one count of fourth-degree grand larceny.

Investigators say Bieber is suspected of taking several checks from the woman. The forged checks then were cashed at banks in Johnson City and Binghamton.

Bieber was arraigned in Endicott village court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
