Endicott Man Accused of DWI/ Speeding Through Work Zone
An Endicott man is accused of speeding through the State Route 17 construction area in Binghamton and almost sideswiping a Broome County Sheriff's squad car.
Deputy Michael Mastronardi says he observed a car driven by 27 year old Timothy Reed doing over 75 miles per hour in a 45 mph construction zone just before 2 a.m. May 11th. Deputy Mastronardi says he also saw Reed appeared to have problems staying in his lane of travel.
Deputy Mastronardi stopped Reed as he took the Brandwine Highway off-ramp in Binghamton.
The deputy says he found a mostly consumed bottle of vodka in Reed's car.
Reed is charged with driving with a blood alcohol content of .18% or more, driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, speeding and several traffic violations.
He was issued tickets to appear in Binghamton City Court at a later date and his car was towed from the scene.
