Endicott Man Accused In Washington Avenue Theft
A detective took an Endicott robbery suspect into custody moments after the incident was reported this morning.
Authorities say 26-year-old Sean Jefferson of Washington Avenue has been charged with third-degree robbery, a felony.
Investigators say Jefferson is accused of grabbing a wallet from an 85-year-old Endicott man on Washington Avenue near Broad Street.
The robbery was reported just before 10 a.m. today.
Police say Jefferson allegedly asked the other man for money for a bus. When the man opened his wallet, Jefferson is said to have taken it.
A detective responding to the call noticed a man who matched the description of the suspect two blocks from the scene. Jefferson was taken into custody without incident.
Police say the owner of the wallet was not injured.
