An Endicott man has been charged with assault after a disturbance in a home on the village's North Side.

Authorities say 62-year-old Timothy Harvey was accused of stabbing his son, 24-year-old Nicholas Harvey, during a dispute at 109 Adams Avenue.

Police say the stabbing occurred around 3:30 Saturday morning when Nicholas Harvey returned to the house after his father advised him to leave a few hours earlier.

Investigators say the son was said to have waved a knife at his mother and slapped a phone from her hands as she tried to call police.

After that, the father is said to have fought with his son. Police say during the altercation, the son was stabbed in the leg and sustained a cut to a hand.

Timothy Harvey was taken into custody at the scene.

Detectives say Nicholas Harvey is to be charged with menacing and criminal mischief. Police said they were seeking a criminal summons and warrant for him.
