The owner of a local bridal shop that closed its doors last week, leaving several brides without wedding gowns is denying accusations that she took off with money without ordering dresses.

The Wedding Works in Endicott closed June 11 as the owner of the building and store employees worked to help the jilted bride.

Some customers say their dress payments were not charged to their accounts but they are scrambling to get gowns for their special day.

While the Wedding Works reportedly continues to work to fill orders, the owner of Tom’s Coffee, Cards and Gifts on Maine Street, Binghamton took to social media to say Bridal Works customers could come to his shop to choose from the wedding gowns he has. He also says the shop can place one-day orders. In the Facebook posting Tom Kelleher says

"We would like to donate a wedding gown of their choice, to anyone who is unfortunate enough to have this serious problem with Wedding Works. Please message me on Facebook, or call the shop at 773-8500. "

Former shop owner Amanda Janicki told media she inherited insurmountable debt when she took on the business and could not recover.

Janicki says she is getting the orders for the bridge or sending them to another nearby bridal store.

Janicki is asking anyone recently placing an order to contact her on her Facebook page.
