The Broome County Office of Emergency Services throughout the morning has been reporting people utilizing Time Warner phone service who had to call 911 have found their calls routed to a phone tree.

Authorities say if that happens, the caller should dial 1 when they get the recording on the phone tree to immediately be transferred to an emergency dispatcher.

Also, some computer websites have been effected by a cut fiberoptic line belong to a commercial phone company, according to an advisory on the National Weather Service website.

It's not clear if the problems are related.
