A Delaware County woman is accused of falsely reporting being held against her will in East Branch.

Sheriff’s officials say 31 year old Jennifer Morris of East Branch was arrested for falsely reporting an incident and was later arrested by the New York State Department of Corrections for a parole violation.

Authorities say they responded to a home on Middle Street in East Branch following a 911 call to find the residents had no knowledge of the alleged hostage incident and no one at the home had called authorities.

The call was traced to a number associated with more than a thousand 911 hang-up calls since May.

The investigation into the hang-up calls is continuing.

Authorities say Morris is being held without bail on the parole warrant.
