The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park is among several locations around the Greater Binghamton Area holding activities to celebrate Earth Fest April 20th.

The date also marks the opening of the 138th regular season for the zoo on Morgan Road on Binghamton's South Side.  Ross Park is the 5th oldest zoo in the nation.

Zoo director emeritus, Steve Contento says the zoo will now be open for daily visits through the fall.  Contento says several special events are sprinkled through the calendar including the popular Feast With the Beasts, the Ice Cream Safari and Boo at the Zoo in October.

In addition to the animal exhibits and educational programs, the park has picnic pavilions available for rent and is home to one of Broome County's historic carousels.

Information on hours and admission prices can be found at www.rosparkzoo.com or by calling the zoo at (607) 724-5461.
