Staff is testing the water every three days at Nathaniel Cole Park in Colesville after two cases of E. Coli were confirmed in people who had been swimming at the park last month.

Broome County Health Department officials say an initial test came back with an elevated level but the latest water tests have come back negative for E. Coli.

Officials say while the water is suspect, there is a chance those affected could have been exposed to another source like contaminated vegetables or meat.

The health department says the park is safe for swimming but officials advise, as always, swimmers at any facility should avoid swallowing the water.
