The Broome County Sheriff''s Office reports a DWI arrest following a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Maine on Wednesday.  According to a press release issued by the office of the Sheriff the crash occurred at the intersection of Pollard Hill Road and Edson Road.

Seth M. Nichols, age 21 from Endicott was identified as one of the drivers in the incident.  Police allege that Nichols passed a stop sign in an unlicensed vehicle.  Upon investigation police believe Nichols had been drinking prior to the crash and that his driver's license had been revoked for a prior DWI arrest.

Sheriff's deputies contend that Nichols failed a standardized field sobriety test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

According to the Sheriff's Department Nichols had a previous DWI conviction in the past ten years  making this charge a Felony.  Violations include driving while intoxicated, Driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent and Aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree.

Nichols was issued traffic tickets and ordered to return to the Town of Maine Court at a date to be determined.
