The 5th Annual Duck Derby to benefit the Broome County Humane Society was held July 19 on the Chenango River in Binghamton.  The Duck Derby organizing area was behind the Holiday Inn, 2 Hawley Street in Downtown Binghamton.

Participants were able to purchase rubber ducks for $5.00 each to race down the Chenango River. Organizers were hoping for 10,000 adopted ducks to be entered.  About $7,000 in total prizes were available to those who adopted the "racing ducks".

Proceeds raised from the Duck Derby go to benefit the services offered by the Broome County Humane Society.  Additional information about the organization is available online at: bchumanesoc.com.
