Dryden Man’s Suspected Murderers Arrested

An Ontario County, New York couple is being charged in the murder of a Tompkins County man who was found dead in Georgia in December.

Authorities arrested 25 year old Jennifer DeMott and 38 year old Robert Brooks of Geneva and charged them with murder in the death of 59 year old Duane Hollenbeck of Dryden.

Hollenbeck’s body was found adjacent to one of the trails at the Chickamauga Battlefield National Park by two hikers on December 12.

According to Forest Service officials in Georgia, DeMott and Brooks had invited Hollenbeck to go with them on a trip to Tennessee and North Georgia but the circumstances surrounding Hollenbeck’s murder are apparently still being investigated and no details have been released.

DeMott is being held in the Catoosa County Jail while Brooks was being held in Tennessee, awaiting extradition to Catoosa County.
