Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A relatively rain-free month of September in the Binghamton area wraps up with two very wet days.

Two to four inches of rain is expected through October 1 over most of the region. But some locations could receive more than four inches. If that happens, there could be localized flash flooding. Significant river rises also are possible.

The heavy rain is coming at the end of an unusually dry month. September had been on track to be the second driest month since the National Weather Service began keeping records for Binghamton.
