A dispute over a past drug debt is believed to be the motive for a shooting incident at the end of last month in the City of Binghamton.

City Police July 10 arrested 21 year old Joel Valdes-Pica and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment for the incident on Tremont Avenueat around 12:30 a.m. June 30th.  A car was hit by gunfire in the shooting.

Police say the intended victim allegedly tried to flee and hit another vehicle parked on Tremont Avenue.

Officials say Valdes-Pica fled the scene in a separate vehicle
