Two Southern Tier residents are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in the Village of Johnson City.

New York State Police say February 20 they stopped a vehicle and found heroin.

Authorities say further investigation turned up 36 wax envelopes of heroin, about 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, packaging material, batteries, tubing and other items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

22 year old Joshua Diaz of Glen Aubrey is charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

18 year old Angela Yager of Binghamton, who was with Diaz in the vehicle, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Both were sent to the Broome County Jail.

Authorities called in resources to safely remove the dangerous materials found in the vehicle associated with meth. manufacture.
