Delaware County authorities are weighing drugs they found after they stopped a New Jersey car in the Village of Walton at 2:30 a.m. October 8 to see if more charges are warranted.

Sheriff’s Deputies say they saw the vehicle driven by 21 year old Jacob Maid speeding on Stocton Avenue and found a strong smell of marijuana when they approached the stopped vehicle.

A search of the vehicle turned up a half ounce of cocaine, methamphetamine, ketamine, the synthetic drug known as Molly, marijuana, marijuana wax, various marijuana infused cookies, candies and syrups and money.

Officials say Maid and his passenger, 25 year old William Cassie, both of Brick were traveling from New Jersey to Laurens where they intended to sell the drugs at a weekend party.

Maid and Cassie are charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell while Cassie is additionally charged with speeding, criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The men were sent to the Delaware County Jail on $100,000 bail.
