Authorities say 31-year-old Michael Buchalla had been sought in connection with a disturbance that had occurred at his home in the Town of Summer Hill.

Cortland County sheriff's officers spotted Buchalla driving a sport utility vehicle on Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville Sunday night.

Investigators say when the officers tried to stop Buchalla, he led them on a short chase into the Town of Homer. He eventually was taken into custody at his residence on Lake Como Road.

Buchalla was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He also was charged with reckless driving and failing to stop at a stop sign.

He was arraigned in Cortlandville town court and sent to Cortland County Jail on $500 bail.
