City of Binghamton Police are investigating shots fired in a West Side neighborhood while children were playing in the area late in the afternoon May 23.

Police recovered shell casings on Murray Street near Lydia Street.

Witnesses told reporters from WBNG TV that a white sport utility vehicle stopped and a suspect fired the shots.

Police said the incident was not a random shooting.

No one was injured but at least one vehicle was pierced by a bullet.

Police are still looking for a suspect.
