A farmers market in downtown Binghamton got off to a slow start for the season Friday. But vendors who were there say they're looking forward to things to pick up as the weather improves and more items are available to be sold.

The cool, rainy weather on the opening day appeared to limit the number of customers who stopped by to see what was being offered.

The market is set up on Collier Street, just south of Court Street. It's sponsored by the Downtown Binghamton Business Association.

The market is scheduled to run through October 25. It will operate Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

EBT cards and SNAP benefits are accepted at the market.
