A downstate woman is accused of trying to outrun Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies shortly before 2 a.m. May 31 on Court Street in the Town of Kirkwood after they tried to stop her for traffic law violations.

Authorities say 26 year old Andrea Driver of Long Island City took off after the Deputy activated his lights and siren and she reportedly reached speeds of about 90 miles an hour entering the City of Binghamton.

After hitting a curb, she stopped on Alice Street and was found to have marijuana in the vehicle.

Driver is charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, unlawful possession of marijuana, reckless driving and several other vehicle and traffic law violations.

She’s been ordered to appear in the Town of Kirkwood and City of Binghamton Courts at later dates.
