Binghamton Mets fans are getting a look at one of the top prospects in the New York Mets organization in first baseman Dominic (Dom) Smith.  A first round New York draft pick in 2013, Smith signed with the Mets on June 19, 2013.  The 6' 0", 230 pound infielder is hitting .254 with one home run and 12 RBI's in 16 games at the Double-A level.

Last season in 118 games in Class A ball Smith hit .305, had six home runs and drove in 79 runs with St. Lucie in the Florida State League.  Currently, Smith is riding a five-game hitting streak and has driven in one or more runs in each of those five games.

Tonight, New York Mets' COO Fred Wilpon and General Manager Sandy Alderson are in town for a Championship Ring presentation before the game and will get a first-hand look at Smith as he continues to make his mark at the Double-A level.
