Two people are recovering from injuries suffered as a vehicle was trying to turn into a Cortlandville bar on State Route 11 Wednesday, October 5.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say Kurtis Yale of Marathon is charged with following too closely after he became distracted coming over a hill and crashed into a pickup truck that then was pushed into a Sport Utility Vehicle that was additionally pushed into another pickup truck.

Authorities arriving on the scene found several vehicles in the road with severe damage.

Investigators say an uninvolved vehicle was stopped on Route 11 as a car was making a left turn into Night Owls’ parking lot with three other vehicles stopped behind the uninvolved vehicle.

Deputies say two drivers were taken to the Cortland Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Yale is to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court later this month.
