Thunderstorms and rain showers were expected to disrupt play in round one of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open on Friday but those did not materialize.  That is not the case this (Saturday) morning at the En Joie Golf Course in Endicott.

The first golfers teed off at 8:00 AM and play was halted before the group scheduled for a 9:39 start got to the tee.  In the early going before the delay Colin Montgomery moved to even par through six holes and is three-under today and past B C Open champion Tom Kite is also three-under in his second round through nine holes today.  He is seven over for the tournament.

The tournament leader Doug Garwood is now scheduled to tee off at 3:45 P.M. with Marco Dawson and Clark Dennis who are both one stroke off the pacesetter. Radar showed a line of rainfall moving across the New York and Pennsylvania border and expected to move out of the area early this afternoon. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for a 40 percent chance of rain this afternoon.
