Dick’s Open Begins Tomorrow

The eighth edition of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open begins tomorrow at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott.  Defending Champion Bart Bryant returns along with most of the top money-winners on the Champions Tour.

This is the 35th anniversary of the Champions tour and is the 17th of 26 official events on the 2014 schedule.  The total purse for the Dick’s Open is $1,850,000 with the winner’s share set at $277,500.  Fred Funk is En-Joie’s all-time career money-leader with earnings of $1,010,631.  He was presented with a Key to the Village of Endicott earlier today at En-Joie.

The first group to tee off tomorrow morning consists of Jim Rutledge, Doug Garwood and Marco Dawson.  Their scheduled tee- time is 9:14 AM.  The last group will go to the tee at 2:00 PM and what a group that will be.  Two Hall of Famers and one future member will be in the group.  Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomery and Mark O’Meara will provide a treat for fans to follow throughout the afternoon.

Updates from En- Joie can be heard with Roger Neel beginning tomorrow afternoon at 3:05 and throughout the weekend on News Radio 1290 WNBF.  A daily summary of the top golfers on the leader board will be posted here on wnbf.com as well.
