Two old structures are being torn down to prepare the five-and-a-half acre site for the $60 million facility.  The property is located south of Corliss Avenue.

The workers from Regional Environmental Demolition of Niagara Falls have been at the site for several days. They're expected to complete their work within three weeks.

Groundbreaking for the project is expected to take place in the spring. Construction should be completed in 2018.

The first class of students for the pharmacy school are to be enrolled in the fall of next year. They'll initially attend classes on the Binghamton University Vestal campus.

Plans call for the school to have about 380 enrolled students after the first four years of the program.

The pharmacy school is one component of the planned Health Sciences and Technology Park being developed by the university in Johnson City.

The Decker School of Nursing is to be moved from Vestal to Johnson City. It is to be relocated in a former Endicott Johnson factory building, just east of the pharmacy school.
