Delaware Deputies Tipped Off to Pot Fields

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials are crediting a tip from a resident for leading them to marijuana plants being grown in Sidney Center September 12.

In addition, the Sheriff’s office found another fifty three marijuana plants being grown in Grand Gorge on New York City-owned land and adjoining private property September 13.

39 year old Morgan George and 47 year old Mark Racioppi are being charged in the incidents.

Officials say George is charged with unlawfully cultivating cannabis, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawfully dealing with fireworks.

Racioppi was arrested at his Town of Roxbury home a day after the discovery of the plants on his property and New York City parcel and charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully cultivating cannabis. He was jailed on $5,000 bail.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials said they wanted to thank members of the public for continuing to offer valuable tips to authorities.
