Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say a Gilboa man is accused of assaulting a person and damaging property belonging to the victim.

Authorities say 22 year old Daniel Tompkins is charged with felony criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, assault and two counts of conspiracy.

Deputies arrested Tompkins AT 11:53 p.m. June 26 following an investigation into an assault reported in May.  Authorities say Tompkins was accused of assaulting a person after conspiring with others in the action.  He’s also accused of causing over $1,500 in damage to the victim’s property and altered and concealed evidence associated with the incident.

Tompkins was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $15,000 bail and ordered to appear in Town of Stamford Court at a later date.
