Stamford Man Arrested After Abandoning Vehicle

New York State Police say a driver was intoxicated when the vehicle he was operating hit a street sign in Delaware County.

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Authorities say 47-year-old Frank Alfisi of Stamford was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a felony. He also faces a count of driving while intoxicated.

Troopers found an abandoned vehicle on Main Street in the Town of Stamford. The damaged vehicle had been left in the roadway.

Police say Alfisi was found sleeping at the nearby home of the vehicle owner.

Alfisi was arraigned in Stamford town court and released on $1,500 bail.
