Delaware County Man Accused of Threatening Mother

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]State police say a 30-year-old Delaware County man was arrested after he allegedly ran toward his mother while wielding a knife and then damaged a wall with the weapon.

Authorities say Danile Korenyik of South Kortright was charged with menacing and criminal mischief. He also faces a weapon possession count.

Investigators say troopers were called to a home on Swantak Road on a report of a dispute.

Police say Korenyik was said to have waved the knife at his mother in a threatening manner. He then allegedly stabbed a wall with the knife.

Korenyik was arraigned in Stamford town court and released without bail. He was ordered to return to court on October 30.
