Delaware County Sheriff Thomas Mills is praising some jail inmates’ green thumbs and the vision of a Correction Officer.

Mills says for the past few years inmates have planted and maintained a garden, which is being expanded this year by 60 feet.

Inmates with good behavior can participate in the program.

Correction Officer Joanne Yager, with the help of Sergeant Alan Weaver and other correction officers have been overseeing the garden, planning and purchasing seeds and tools.
