A Delaware County woman is accused of failing to report tens of thousands of dollars worth of income in order to obtain close $16,800 in food stamp benefits to which she was not entitled.

Sheriff’s officials say 35 year old Sara Wiley of Stamford is charged with felony welfare fraud, and seven felony counts of offering a false instrument for filing.

Investigators say Wiley allegedly made $51,000 in income between December of 2008 and December of last year which she did not claim.

Wiley was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $30,000 bail.
