New York State Police say 74-year-old Ira Landess and 71-year-old Nancy Klinger-Landess were reported missing Tuesday.

Troopers discovered a large hole in the ice on a pond on the couple's property off Quaker Hill Road. A dog toy was found near the hole.

State police divers recovered the man's body around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The woman's body, along with that of the dog, were pulled from the pond about 1 p.m. Wednesday.

A deputy medical examiner ruled the deaths were caused by drowning and hypothermia.
