Republican Gregory Deemie has won a landslide victory over the Democratic candidate Barrett Esworthy in the race for Mayor in the Village of Johnson City.  Deemie retains his job as Mayor with 69.92% of the vote compared to 30.08% of the vote claimed by his opponent.

With 100 per cent of the votes tabulated Deemie had 1,832 votes to 788 for Esworthy.  The two candidates had a spirited campaign debating over a number of issues including fiscal policies for the Village.

According to figures from the Broome Republicans, Democrats outnumber Republicans in Johnson City by 500 out of slightly less than 8,000 total registered voters.
