DEC Issues Tips for Hunter Safety

With the start of fall comes the beginning of big and small game hunting seasons in the southern tier. As you gear up for the hunt one thing to remember is to hunt safely.

The DEC has some safety tips to pass along:

1. Assume every gun is loaded.
2. Point your gun in a safe direction
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
4. Be sure of your target and beyond, and lastly wear hunter orange.
