Broome County Executive Debra Preston says she is expecting to be back in her office in the county office building at the end of the month.

The Republican posted on her face book page that her doctors have cleared her to come back to work on June 30th with half days in the office, working up to full days as she continues to receive treatment for lung cancer.

Preston has been participating in committee and staff meetings from home via Skype after undergoing surgery to have an upper lobe of a lung removed.

Following that surgery, doctors advised that Preston should undergo chemotherapy treatments.

The Executive says she will be getting chemotherapy treatments locally for the next four months and plans to continue working through the treatments.

She says she continues to feel better and has been told her recovery is progressing well.

Preston says her next follow up appointment is scheduled for December.
