The Binghamton dance teacher convicted of sexually molesting children is to spend 15 years in prison.

Samantha Werkheiser was convicted last month of felony sexual conduct against a child in the incidents involving a relative.

Werkheiser’s partner, who ran another dance studio, was also convicted in connection with allegations she molested young girls.

Werkheiser had faced a maximum of 25 years in prison.

She had been sentenced to 12 years under a previous conviction that had been thrown out on appeal.

In court, Werkheiser maintained she never sexually abused a child.

Following her prison term, the former teacher is to serve 20 years on probation and two orders of protection have been issued.
