Chenango Valley played its first varsity football game on its new artificial turf field and topped the Waverly Wolverines 31-20.  The Warriors get their first win of the season and even their slate at 1-1.  Waverly falls to 0-2.

Waverly was ahead at the half 14-12.  But the Warriors scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the third quarter to move to a 25-14 lead.

The teams traded TD's in the fourth quarter but Waverly could never re-take the lead. Chris Singleton scored on a 14-yard run with 2:11 to play in the game to cap it for Chenango Valley.  He ended up with a pair of touchdowns while Aaron Trumino scored three times.  CV's defense also made some huge plays led by Jack Riegal who pressured Waverly quarterbacks throughout the game with a seemingly unstoppable pass rush.
