Cortland County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a report of damage to a vehicle and items stolen at a popular hiking site.

Officials say at around 6:30 p.m. August 7 they responded to a call at Tinker Falls off Route 91 in the Town of Truxton.

A man said he parked at the Tinker Falls Route 91 pull-off at around 4:30 p.m. to take a hike.

When he got back from the Fingerlakes trail at around 6:30, the man said a window on his vehicle was broken and a wallet and purse were stolen from the vehicle.
