Binghamton Restaurant Week continues through this Thursday.  Over the past week I have spoken with a significant number of people who say they are loving the chance to enjoy an affordable lunch or dinner offered up at these restaurants.

For lunch today I visited Crepe Heaven, 217 Main Street on Binghamton's West Side.  I had heard a lot about it but had never been there until today.  After my experience and meal I would strongly suggest that you not let Restaurant Week run out without a visit to Crepe Heaven.

Crepe Heaven is a family-owned business and I love to visit these.  There is plenty of hard work that goes into owning and operating any business and the restaurant business certainly has its challenges.  There was a  nice crowd but still plenty of room.  There were what appeared to be Binghamton University students there as well as middle-aged families and retirees.

Crepe Heaven has a wonderful assortment of savory and sweet crepes with several specials on the luncheon menu during Restaurant Week including chicken, ricotta and veggie crepes.  I started out with a bowl of their Peasant Soup.  Filled with vegetables and beef it was a very tasty way to begin my meal.  Also featured are their Gyros which I had.  It was a delicious beef Gyro with tomatoes, onions and lettuce that you can add on to build your own wonderful treat.

And now the third course.  Dessert !  I chose the caramel chocolate cake which you see with this article.  You can describe it in two words...delicious..delicious !  It is specially made for Restaurant Week. You have today plus two more days to try it !  It is delightful !  If you are able to go there tonight, tomorrow or Thursday...it is on the MUST have list.  But be careful.... it is so good you'll want to take another piece home for later. All their food is homemade and Gluten free, too !.
