Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they have made several arrests concerning the passing of counterfeit $20 bills recently.

Officials say May 25, 37 year old Richard Small II of Cortland, 22 year old Bronson Marshall of McGraw and 23 year old Rhonda Ripley of Cortland were charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument for allegedly trying to pass fake money at the Lil’ Treat Shoppe on Route 11 in Cortlandville.  Ripley was also charged with an additional 11 counts of possession of a forged instrument after authorities say they found 11 bogus $20 bills in her possession when she was being booked into the Cortland County Jail.

In a separate case, 25 year old Shylo Locke of Homer was charged May 28 with criminal possession of a forged instrument. He’s accused of passing counterfeit $20 bills March 25 and 27 at Mirabito Fuel on Route 281 in Preble and at the Dunkin Donuts located inside the convenience store.
