Counselor Assaulted At Ithaca-Area Juvenile Facility

Police say a Tompkins County juvenile detention center employee was injured in an attack by a resident.

Authorities say 18-year-old Dillian Williams was arrested in connection with the incident.

According to state police, Williams is a resident at the Finger Lakes Residential Center on Auburn Road in Lansing.

Investigators say Williams struck a counselor with an open hand. The worker was hurt but police did not disclose the severity of the injury.

Williams was ordered to appear in Lansing town court on November 27.
