Authorities say 50-year-old Daniel Henry of Cortland was taken into custody early Saturday evening after the brief chase.

According to the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, officers tried to pull over Henry, who was observed driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed on Route 13 in the city of Cortland.

Henry allegedly tried to elude the pursuing officers by going more than 25 miles per hour over the speed limit.

Henry was taken into custody after he dumped the motorcycle on Ames Road in the town of Cortlandville and ran off.

Henry was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and unlawful fleeing police. He also was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, as well as several vehicle and traffic charges.

Henry was arraigned in Cortlandville town court and sent to Cortland County Jail without bail.
