Cortland Man Faces Charges After Shoplifting Complaint
A man suspected of stealing merchandise from a Cortland County store faces drug and weapon charges.
Authorities say 36-year-old Gabe Morris of Cortland was arrested after state police investigated a shoplifting incident at the Kmart store on Route 13 in Cortlandville.
According to police, Morris was in possession of cocaine, marijuana and a butterfly knife when he was taken into custody.
Morris was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and petit larceny.
Morris was arraigned in Cortlandville town court and sent to Cortland County Jail on $1,000 bail.
