Construction Continues On Johnson City Liquor Store

A liquor store being built on Johnson City property owned by Rochester-based Wegmans Food Markets is expected to open in a few months.

Crews started working at the site at 700 Harry L Drive over the summer. A converted school building that was being used for medical offices once stood on the property.

Broome County property records show the site was acquired by Wegmans in 2008 for $2,500,000.

Wegmans spokeswoman Jo Natale says the tenant plans to open in the space in early 2014.

The business is to be operated by Johnson City Wine Partners LLC of Rochester.
