Conklin Man Accused of Hitting Parked Tractor Trailer

A Conklin man is facing charges following a crash involving a car and tractor trailer on Conklin Road near Broome Corporate Parkway in the Town of Conklin at around 4 a.m. October 7.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say a 2016 Jeep Compass driven by 43 year old Jason Demoney crossed into the southbound lane and hit the tractor trailer that was stopped on the southbound shoulder.

Deputies say Demoney admitted he had consumed several alcoholic beverages earlier.

Demoney is charged with felony driving while intoxicated with a prior DWI conviction in the last ten years, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a required ignition interlock device, moving from a lane unsafely, crossing over hazard markings and traveling left of pavement markings in a no passing zone.

He’s been ordered to appear in Conklin Town Court at a later date.
