Binghamton Mets slugging outfielder Michael Conforto has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week after an outstanding series against the Trenton Thunder at NYSEG Stadium.  Conforto, considered a top prospect in the New York Mets' organization, went 7-16 with a double, a triple and a pair of home runs against the Yankees' Double-A affiliate.

Conforto returned from playing in the All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati by smashing a two-run home run against the Thunder on July 16 and then hit another homer on July 18.  He helped key his B-Mets to wins in three of the four games against Trenton.  Binghamton moved to within a half-game of the first place Thunder at the end of the weekend.

Conforto has played 41 games with Binghamton and is hitting .325 with five home runs and 24 RBI.  This is his third Player of the Week honors this season.  The previous two came while in Class A St. Lucie.
