Computers are an every day part of our lives. There isn't much that we do anymore that doesn't involve the computer in one way or another.  Each Tuesday, I'll bring you a tip or two that will help you tame these technological beasts.  Also, if you have a question for me, feel free to email it to sean@wnbf.com and I may answer it in a future segment.

So for today, I'd like to talk to you about the appearance of your computer's virtual workspace.  There are several ways to customize or enhance the visual look of your computer.  In Windows (we're talking Windows 7 here folks) you can change the desktop theme, wallpaper, and color by right clicking on the desktop and clicking PERSONALIZE.

As you can see in the picture below, I have many different themes that I downloaded from HERE.  There are dozens of great themes on this site and you can find third party themes on other sites as well.  Just search for Windows 7 Themes using your favorite search engine.  From this screen you can also change the color of the windows, sounds, and screen savers.  You can also change the appearance of your mouse pointer and choose which desktop icons you want to appear.

It isn't always about looks and sometimes functionality and accessibility are very important.  By accessing the control panel and going to EASE OF ACCESS you can change the magnification of the screen, text size, and many other options.

Computers are an every day part of life so like anything else you should customize them to fit your needs; both visually and functionally.

Remember, you can submit your computer questions to sean@wnbf.com, then check back for your answer!
